Tai Lopez

Tai Lopez is an American internet marketer, entrepreneur, and online educator best known for his viral "Here in my garage" social media advertisements in the mid-2010s. He built a following teaching personal development, business, and online income through programmes including 67 Steps and a Social Media Marketing Agency (SMMA) course. He co-founded Retail Ecommerce Ventures (REV), which acquired distressed retail brands including RadioShack, Pier 1 Imports, and Dress Barn. In September 2025 the SEC filed a civil complaint against Lopez, his co-founder Alex Mehr, and their COO, alleging they raised approximately $112 million from hundreds of investors through fraudulent offerings between 2020 and 2022, misused investor funds, and made Ponzi-like payments. The FBI has separately contacted investors as part of a criminal investigation. No criminal charges have been filed as of mid-2025 and Lopez denies the allegations.
